I founded Gavin Stewart Piano Academy to provide thoughtful, structured and encouraging piano lessons for children, teenagers and adults. I have worked with pupils across Perth and Central Scotland, supporting each individual at their own pace helping each individual progress at their own pace while building genuine musical understanding.
My Journey Into Piano Teaching
Music has always been central to my life. The inspiration I received from my own teachers shaped not only my playing but also the way I teach today. Their encouragement and belief in my potential showed me how powerful the right guidance can be.
After completing my BMus Honours at Edinburgh Napier University and earning a Postgraduate Diploma from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, I knew I wanted to dedicate my career to helping others experience that same sense of growth and possibility.
Since establishing the academy, I have focused on delivering high-quality, personalised piano tuition in Perth that combines strong technical foundations with creativity and musical expression.

My Teaching Philosophy
My approach to piano lessons in Perth is built around three core principles: inspiration, empowerment and creativity.

Music making sits at the heart of every lesson. Through exploring musical elements in a practical and imaginative way, pupils develop deep understanding rather than simply learning notes on a page.
My teaching style is relaxed, supportive and carefully tailored to the individual. Some pupils thrive with structured exam preparation, while others prefer exploratory learning or returning to the piano for personal enjoyment. Each programme is adapted to suit the student’s goals.
