Age 4-6

This is an ideal time to start learning. At this stage I teach using the renowned Dogs and Birds method, which enables young children to learn to read music without knowledge of the alphabet. In the beginning the piano is used as a resource rather than the main focus, in order to develop general musicianship skills first. The colourful illustrations, and use of animal names, make the learning process enjoyable for all children.

I offer 30-minute piano lessons for kids as young as 4. I also offer parents a range of advice on how to help their kids on their piano journey.

Additionally, I offer support for students who would like to pursue piano exams and qualifications, but do not believe that their success can be measured by exams alone. Instead, measured by the level of joy and excitement they get out of playing the piano.

Learning piano in the early years is one of the most important things to encourage their self-expression, creativity and motivation. Music helps us connect. When children learn piano, they’ll learn to truly be themselves, and find and follow their passions from a young age.
